These are the terms for using the Gorse app and this website. We have kept them short and in plain English, because that is how we would want to read them.
The app is provided as it is
Gorse is offered as-is and as-available, without warranties. We look after it carefully and we would love it to be perfect, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free, or right about everything. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss that follows from using the app or this site - including a journey that did not go to plan. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited.
Always check the official page before you travel.
Site information
Opening times, prices, access details and locations are gathered in good faith from public sources and can be out of date or simply wrong. Sites close for weddings, storms, lambing and repairs. Treat what you read in Gorse as a helpful starting point, not a guarantee - the custodian's own page is the last word.
We are not an official anything
Gorse is an independent, unofficial companion app. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for English Heritage, the National Trust, Cadw, Historic England or any other organisation. We do not sell tickets, take bookings or speak for any site. We just love these places and wanted a better way to find them. Names of sites and organisations are used only to describe the places you can visit.
Images and content
Photographs in Gorse are either openly licensed or our own. Every image is credited in the app under About, then Image credits, with its licence. Your journal notes and photos are yours - we claim nothing over them.
Fair use of the app
Please do not scrape the catalogue wholesale, resell it, or try to break the app or the service behind it. Otherwise, use Gorse as much as you like.
Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top says when we last did. They are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
